Personal Support Worker - Mattawa , Ontario - CAD$162.00/week

Description We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Support Worker to provide care for a woman in her early sixties living with dementia in Mata, Ontario.

About the Client: Our client has been living with dementia for approximately three years, with symptoms progressing over time. She requires assistance with personal care, including morning hygiene and incontinence care. She experiences significant memory challenges, often asking repetitive questions and having difficulty with routine tasks like locating items in plain sight.

She is a smoker but sometimes forgets how to light cigarettes and needs gentle reminders and assistance. Her partner works full-time from home with a demanding schedule, particularly during morning hours when he has back-to-back meetings with international colleagues.

Responsibilities

- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, toileting, and incontinence care
- Support with morning routines and hygiene
- Offer companionship and engagement during visits
- Assist with daily activities and provide gentle redirection as needed
- Monitor client's condition and document observations after each visit
- Communicate regularly with family and nursing oversight team about any changes in condition
- Help maintain dignity and quality of life for the client

What We're Looking For:
- Certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) with valid certification
- Experience working with clients living with dementia or cognitive decline
- Patient,



compassionate approach with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide respectful personal care while maintaining client dignity
- Robust observation and documentation skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable working independently in a home environment
- Understanding of progressive dementia care needs

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (2 hours per visit, 6 hours per week). This schedule may expand based on family needs and caregiver availability. The family is looking to start as soon as possible. Pay & Hours

Additional Considerations Client smokes and may need reminders and assistance with smoking. Caregiver should be comfortable supporting client with morning routines including cleaning and personal hygiene. Client works from home and has frequent morning meetings, so caregiver support during peak morning hours is essential. Caregiver will work alongside nurse oversight and complete visit reports to track care plan progress.
