About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for an 86-year-old woman living in a retirement community in Belleville. She recently transitioned from a more independent living environment where she had regular PSW support and is adjusting to her new setting. She uses a walker or wheelchair for mobility and benefits from memory prompts and redirection for cognitive support.

She requires medication reminders to stay on track. While she's physically capable, she thrives on social connection and getting out into the community. She has some hearing difficulty even with hearing aids, so clear communication is essential.

Responsibilities:

- Provide companionship and social engagement during community outings
- Assist with mobility support using walker or wheelchair
- Drive client to local coffee shops, scenic areas, parks, and waterfront locations
- Help client enjoy outdoor activities like watching children play, observing animals, and appreciating nature
- Provide medication reminders as needed
- Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection for cognitive support
- Ensure client returns to residence by 5:00 PM for dinner

What We're Looking For:

- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for community outings
- Experience with mobility assistance using walkers or wheelchairs
- Clear, articulate English speaker who can communicate effectively with someone who has hearing difficulties
- Patient, warm personality who makes clients feel comfortable
- Knowledge of the Belleville area and local scenic spots




- Ability to build genuine friendship and rapport with seniors
- Comfortable with 2-hour community-based visits focused on social engagement
- Understanding of cognitive support needs including memory prompts and redirection

Schedule: Two visits per week, approximately 2-4 hours each visit, typically between 2:00-4:00 PM (after lunch, before dinner at 5:00 PM). Preferred days are Sunday and Tuesday, though some flexibility exists for the right candidate. The family is open to adjusting days to accommodate an excellent caregiver's availability, with options including any combination of Sunday through Wednesday.

This role focuses on enriching quality of life through meaningful social connection and community engagement. The ideal caregiver will help recreate the beautiful friendship dynamic the client previously enjoyed with her former caregiver, who took her on regular outings to enjoy coffee, scenic drives, and nature.
