At Covenant Health, the Physician Assistant works under a Physician’s direction and supervision within a multidisciplinary team. The role supports patients with varied medical conditions through comprehensive assessments, diagnostic recommendations, treatment explanations, and continuity planning. Clinical services remain within the Physician Assistant’s skill matrix and competence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive direct patient care under physician supervision
- Consult and refer patients to appropriate health professionals
- Recommend and explain diagnostic tests and treatments




- Communicate follow-up care with patients and families
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and program evaluation

Requirements:

- Recognized Physician Assistant program graduation in Canada or United States
- CCPA or PA-C certification credential
- Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- Commitment to ongoing education, training, and professional development
- Experience in hospital-based or acute care is an asset
