About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dependable Community Care Giver to provide essential in-home support for individuals living with chronic illnesses in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role focuses on assisting clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and helping them manage their conditions more effectively. You will be a vital link in maintaining the quality of life for those in your care, enabling them to remain in their homes comfortably and safely. The ideal candidate will have a patient and understanding demeanor, strong communication skills, and a commitment to person-centred care. This is an on-site role requiring regular visits to clients' homes within the Kimberley area.

Key Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Help with medication reminders and ensuring clients take their prescribed treatments. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment. Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversation with clients. Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices. Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to the agency supervisor. Accompany clients to medical appointments or therapy sessions.



Educate clients and their families on managing chronic conditions and healthy lifestyle choices. Maintain accurate daily logs and records of care provided.

Requirements

Previous experience as a caregiver, preferably supporting individuals with chronic illnesses. A recognised certificate in healthcare assistance or equivalent qualification is an asset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust. Demonstrated patience, empathy, and reliability. Understanding of basic health needs and safety protocols for individuals with chronic conditions. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in clients' homes. Knowledge of the Kimberley, Northern Cape community resources is beneficial. Must be physically able to perform caregiving tasks. Willingness to undergo background checks and provide references.
