Build Your Career with a Company That's Going Places!

At BAT Construction, we're proud of what we do, the projects we take on, and most importantly, the people who make it all happen.

We're a growing Canadian company specializing in geotechnical construction, slope stabilization, and drilling. We take on challenging projects, solve complex problems, and deliver quality work through the dedication and expertise of our team.

Our success is built on five core values: Safety-Driven, Integrity, Flexibility, Quality and Team Spirit. These aren't just words on a wall. They're how we work, how we treat each other, and how we build lasting relationships with our clients and partners.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to join our team in Kamloops, BC.

If you're a natural problem solver, enjoy building strong supplier relationships, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where your decisions make a real difference, we'd like to hear from you!

The Opportunity

As our Procurement Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our people, equipment, and projects moving.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead our procurement function, oversee purchasing activities across the company, and work closely with Operations, Project Management, Finance, and our Yard team.

This is more than a purchasing position. It's an opportunity to take ownership of an important part of our business, improve how we operate, and help shape our processes as BAT continues to grow.

We're looking for someone who can see the big picture while staying on top of the details. Someone who understands that successful procurement isn't just about getting the best price. It's about getting the right products and services, at the right time, while protecting quality, controlling costs, and supporting the people who depend on them.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading Procurement: Coordinate company-wide purchasing of materials, tools, equipment, supplies, subcontracted services, and rentals to support our projects and operations.
- Building Supplier Relationships: Develop strong partnerships with suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing and agreements, and hold vendors accountable for quality and delivery.
- Driving Value: Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve purchasing efficiency, and strengthen our procurement processes without compromising safety or quality.
- Supporting Our Projects:

Work closely with Project Managers and Operations to anticipate project requirements, coordinate deliveries, and ensure our crews have what they need to succeed.
- Managing Inventory and Equipment Records: Oversee centralized inventory and fleet records, working with our Yard team to improve accuracy, visibility, and equipment tracking.
- Coordinating Logistics: Support the movement of materials, equipment, and supplies between our yard, suppliers, and project sites.
- Keeping Things Organized: Oversee purchase orders, supplier agreements, purchasing documentation, and procurement reporting.
- Leading Your Team: Supervise and support the Procurement Administrator, establish clear priorities, and help build an efficient, accountable department.
- Improving How We Work: Identify opportunities to streamline systems, strengthen communication, and develop procurement practices that support our continued growth.

What You Bring to the Team We're looking for someone who combines strong procurement experience with practical judgment, initiative, and a team-first attitude.

Our ideal candidate has:

- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and commercial agreements.
- Experience coordinating purchasing, inventory, and logistics in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working with budgets, purchasing systems, and cost reporting.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and a willingness to take ownership.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- A commitment to safety, accountability, and doing things the right way.

The following would be an asset:

- Experience in construction, drilling, mining, or a related industrial environment.
- Familiarity with geotechnical construction materials, equipment, and supplies.

- A professional supply chain designation such as APICS, ISM, NCMA, or equivalent.
