Kablamo is an impact-driven software engineering company (teamkablamo.com). We bring engineering, data, and AI expertise to solve complex problems with the intellectual horsepower to know what works and the care to make sure it actually does. Founded in 2017 in Australia, we've grown quickly across both markets, including the expansion of our team to Canada in 2021.
Our team is growing but we remain small and nimble in Canada - because AI is reshaping what traditional roles look like, the boundaries between roles stay versatile. People pick up what the work needs and have a real voice in how we continue to improve our own work experiences. As a result, we commit time so that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow significantly in their careers. We call our approach Make with Heart and Mind.
We are looking for a FullStack Engineer as we expand our impact with new customers. This posting supports the position to start between November 2026 and February 2027.
The Role
Our Developers work with the latest technology, combining a natural curiosity with a passion for delivering high-quality results through repeatable processes and development patterns. Comfortable working seamlessly across the full stack, they build rich, dynamic front-end code alongside robust, performant back-end APIs and services, and there’s no greater satisfaction for them than seeing the satisfaction of seeing a client’s application come to life
Responsibilities
1. MAKE — Engineering That Delivers
- Architect and build web applications end-to-end, producing robust, well-tested, and maintainable software across client and server layers.
- Drive ownership of features or whole modules throughout the full software lifecycle,
from early requirements down to production deployment.
- Construct interactive web interfaces with React.js, aligning with modern design guidelines and seamless user experiences.
- Implement performant RESTful or GraphQL API endpoints, prioritizing system stability, throughput, and protective data boundaries.
- Maintain high quality by writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Investigate and troubleshoot live system issues, resolving underlying root causes or routing to specialized teams when necessary.
- Leverage AI coding workflows and agent-driven development environments (such as Cursor or Claude Code) to ship code rapidly without sacrificing standards.
- Embed generative AI functionality into production apps, utilizing RAG architectures, structured model outputs, prompt design, and function invocation.
- Embed security within your daily execution by anticipating vulnerabilities, handling risks proactively, and observing organizational compliance policies.
- Discuss system design, suggest solutions to technical problems and ask senior engineers for help when needed.
- Evaluate technical compromises across artificial intelligence solutions, balancing token expenditure, response latencies, model selection, and fallback strategies against real-world reliability.
- Advise on optimal generative AI adoption for client use cases while crafting reusable design patterns across software engagements.
- Expand your software engineering toolkit through continuous learning and remaining knowledgeable on modern tech stacks.
- Identify emerging threats early, notify the Risk Manager along with Executive Leaders, and refine company-wide security protocols continuously.
3. HEART — Care Is an Outcome
- Partner closely with multidisciplinary peers—spanning Product, Design, and Platform Engineering—to deliver seamless customer experiences.
- Participate actively in agile routines including daily standups, backlog grooming, iteration planning, retrospectives, and client demonstrations.
- Provide actionable, empathetic feedback during peer code reviews while incorporating recommendations into your own pull requests.
- Guide and assist junior engineers during onboarding and daily development activities.
- Establish responsible AI usage standards, supporting colleagues in mastering effective prompt patterns, verification procedures, and output reviews.
- Author clear engineering documentation and share technical insights regularly across internal team channels.
Core skills and experience
- 3-5 years of experience developing custom software
- Experience with CSS pre-processors such as Sass or Less
