This Staff Software Engineer role focuses on GNSS and INS solutions for Garmin’s product categories. You will develop, test, and document complex software while exploring algorithmic problems. Collaboration includes peer reviews, technical research, and engineering recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement complex C/C++ software for embedded real-time systems
- Test and document positioning applications and algorithm implementations
- Collaborate on software and algorithm design approaches
- Conduct research and feasibility studies on emerging technologies
- Represent Garmin with industry partners and peer groups

Requirements:

- Fourteen years relevant experience with qualifying degree, or equivalent
- Positioning algorithm experience for consumer applications
- Knowledge of GNSS error sources, Kalman filtering, and fault detection
- Ability to automate large-scale positioning data analysis
- Proven success solving highly complex algorithmic problems
