Lead Dalhousie’s operating budget and Financial Services team as Acting Assistant Vice-President Finance during a one-year internal appointment.

Reporting to the Vice-President Finance and Administration, this acting leadership role provides continuity across Dalhousie’s Finance and Administration portfolio. You will guide enterprise-wide planning, resource stewardship, financial systems, and related processes across the university’s multi-campus environment. The position supports teaching and research while advancing financial services aligned with Dalhousie’s mission and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage Dalhousie’s annual operating budget
- Lead the Financial Services team
- Provide senior financial expertise across the university




- Support enterprise-wide planning and resource stewardship
- Oversee financial systems, processes, and services

Requirements:

- Senior financial leadership experience
- Finance team leadership experience in post-secondary education
- CPA designation or recognized international equivalent
- Accountability for annual financial statement preparation and audit
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, reporting standards, and internal controls
