Design power systems in Kanata for Ciena’s optical and Ethernet platforms, using circuit design and power laboratory measurement techniques.

As a Power Hardware Engineer, you will develop and validate power and ground solutions for next-generation Optical and Ethernet platform equipment. You will create schematics and layouts for high-performance circuit pack power solutions. The work involves collaboration with hardware, mechanical, manufacturing, test engineering, procurement, and external supply partners. Ciena’s hardware team designs and validates optical and digital or analog circuit packs for Transport and Switching products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop power and ground systems for platform equipment
- Design circuit pack power schematics and layouts




- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical design teams
- Review design specifications and performance results
- Verify designs using engineering and production prototypes

Requirements:

- Bachelor of Engineering degree
- Five or more years with electrical power systems
- Experience in microelectronic power product development
- Power laboratory equipment and measurement techniques experience
- Communication and teamwork across multiple disciplines
