Job Description:

Read blueprints or technical diagrams. Install and maintain wiring, control, and lightingsystems. Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical, but not all inclusive, duties are as follows:

- Theemployee in this classification is responsible for the installation and repair ofelectrical facilities and apparatus associated with coal mining, distribution systems andbuildings.
- This responsibility will involve either the installation and/or maintenance and/or repair of a-c and d-c circuits, appliances, lighting and heating facilities, control equipment, generators, motors, switchboards, switchgear transformers, metering, relay circuits, etc., and to prepare forms and reports as required.
- This responsibility may include providing training to apprentices and work direction toan assigned helper.
- The incumbent will also perform other related and assigned duties associated withthe overall mining operation





Qualifications

Saskatchewan or Interprovincial JourneymanElectrician Certificate. Must be physicallyfit and must have the ability to co operate and work effectively with other employees.Must possess a valid Class 3A Driver's License.

Working Conditions

This job involves working on a 7 day alternating or rotating shift basis on a remote minesite. Must be willing to provide own transportation and living accommodations. Employee is required to work 12 or 8 hour shifts on a rotating day and night crew. Position is located on a mine site so the employee will be working in an environmentthat is susceptible to the weather. A combination of indoor and outdoor work isrequired for this classification. Employee will receive two 10 minute breaks and a 20 minute meal break for every shift 8 hour shift and two 15 minute breaks and a half hourmeal break for every 12 hour shift.
