Apply mechanical expertise at Suncor’s Fort Hills site, maintaining mining equipment on a seven-days-on, seven-days-off rotation. Troubleshoot hydraulic, engine, transmission, and electronic systems.

As a Heavy Duty Technician, you will maintain Caterpillar auxiliary equipment, Komatsu haul trucks, Hitachi shovels, and P&H; 4100 shovels. The position requires post-apprenticeship experience, mechanical aptitude, computer proficiency, and proven troubleshooting skills. You will support protected, reliable, and efficient mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Complete planned maintenance inspections and repairs on heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electronics
- Replace engines, transmissions, wheel motors, and other major components




- Maintain accurate technical and preventative maintenance records
- Participate in failure analysis and root cause discussions

Requirements:

- Two years of post-apprenticeship mining equipment maintenance experience
- Valid Alberta Journeyman or Interprovincial Red Seal certificate
- Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, and P&H; equipment
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
