Asthe successful applicant, you will do the following:

- Conductassessment based on accepted current mental health standards
- Initiateappropriateintervention, which may involveshort- or long-termtherapy and treatment, caseconsultation,engagementand production of Shared Care with family medicine,facilitation of psychiatric, addiction or forensic referral and involvement withprimary care and social service supports.
- Workcomfortably with pharmacological intervention aswarranted.




- Maintainthe clinical recordin accordance withclinic policy and regulatory collegerequirements.
- Consultwith family physicians and circle of care asappropriate regardingpsychiatriccare and system coordination
- Liaisewith long term care, retirement homes and hospital, medical and social serviceagencies.
- Assume anactive role as member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Activeparticipation in training,educationand clinical supervision.

WhatYou’ll Bring

Required

- Preferred Masters level ofeducation and registered with one of the followingcolleges:Social Work,Nursing,OccupationalTherapistor a related field.
- Minimum 4 years clinicalexperience in a mental health setting, including case management, and/orindividual and group counselling.
- Current CPR certification
- Working knowledge of the MentalHealth Act, Health Care Consent Act and Substitute Decision Maker Act
- Knowledgeof the DSM IV
- Soundassessment skills with regards to physical assessment, mentalassessmentandrisk assessment.
- Experiencein the application of Mental Health Assessment Tools
- Knowledgeof family Dynamics
- Knowledgeof pharmacology treatment of psychiatric disorders.
- Knowledgeof Regional Resources

Preferred





- Experience with SubstanceAbuse/Concurrent Disorders an asset
- Knowledgein Brief SolutionFocused Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapyconsidered an asset.
- Experiencewith Meditech Expanse
