Plan ATCO Electric’s 25kV distribution grid in Grand Prairie, Alberta, using power systems planning and electrical design expertise. Engineer and Senior Engineer levels are available.
Reporting to the Supervising Engineer, this position supports operational planning for ATCO Electric’s distribution system. Work includes civil structure design, electrical design, protection coordination, CYME modeling, and distribution project delivery. Placement depends on qualifications, experience, and technical capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan ATCO Electric’s 25kV distribution systems operationally
- Review area protection and protection coordination requirements
- Maintain distribution planning models in CYME
- Develop business cases addressing identified system problems
- Complete single line diagrams and fault studies
Requirements:
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Civil, or equivalent discipline
- Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee designation
- APEGA licensure and minimum four years related experience
- Robust civil structure and electrical design skills
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
