Make a Meaningful Impact on the Coast

At Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC), our mission is simple but vital: to protect the West Coast through world-class marine spill preparedness and response.

We are looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to support our President so that he may focus on strategic priorities while ensuring everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, anticipate needs before they arise, and take pride in being indispensable to a leader and organization, this is the opportunity for you.

What You Will Do

- Provide proactive, high-level administrative and organizational support, anticipating needs and ensuring the President is always prepared.
- Manage and optimize the President’s schedule, including complex calendar coordination, travel arrangements, and logistical planning.
- Act as a key liaison between the President, Board of Directors, senior leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and coordinate executive-level correspondence, presentations, and reports.
- Support Board and governance activities, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, and documentation.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, ensuring all logistics, materials, and briefings are handled seamlessly.
- Track priorities, follow up on commitments, and support special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, including corporate and governance documentation.

What Sets You Apart

An amazing Executive Assistant is a business enabler. You have an intuitive sense of what your leader needs: you know where they need to be, why they need to be there, and how they are getting there.

No job is too big or too small for you. One minute you may be creating high-level presentations, assisting on projects, or attending senior meetings; the next, you will not hesitate to order lunch or assist with an urgent request. You are a master organizer, particularly with scheduling and travel arrangements, and you can multi-task with ease. You can independently leverage technology to master complex priorities, produce skilled materials, and improve administrative efficiency.

You are highly professional and discrete, smart and savvy, and you know when to listen and when to speak. You are resourceful and highly independent, able to solve problems, navigate ambiguity, and take initiative with minimal discretion.

What You Bring

- Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible executive support experience, including experience supporting a high-level executive, President or CEO.
- Experience supporting Boards of Directors and managing governance-related activities.

- Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, systems, and tools including leveraging emerging tools such as AI to approve efficiency and effectiveness in the role.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft executive-level materials.
- A high level of discretion, tact, sound judgment, and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Why Join WCMRC?

We know that meaningful work is only part of the equation. That is why we offer a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package that includes:

- Competitive compensation with an incentive plan.
- 100% employer-paid benefits for you and your family.
- Generous and flexible work arrangements, including options for compressed work weeks.
- Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP) to support your long-term financial wellness.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to support personal and career growth.
- The opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals committed to protecting the West Coast environment.

Salary Range:90,000 to 95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. A higher starting salary may be considered for applicants who bring additional relevant experience, advanced expertise, or exceptional qualifications aligned wit
