Key Responsibilities

Our leadingNorthern Ontario multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking aPrincipal Mechanical Design Specialist to champion major heavy industrial andheavy infrastructure projects across the region. In this strategic role, youwill serve as the final authority on complex industrial plant layouts andmechanical systems, steering the execution of equipment installations,high-capacity pumping systems, complex piping, and bulk material handlingsystems. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 15 years of progressive heavyindustrial design mastery, ideally rooted in regional sectors such as mineralprocessing, mining, or pulp and paper operations. Operating out of our regionalhub, you will possess ultimate accountability for complex design deliverables,ensure strict compliance with industrial drafting standards and Northernconstructability constraints,



and act as a senior technical mentor to elevateour growing regional design team.

Qualifications:

Qualifications& Experience:

- Education: Graduate of a recognizedpost-secondary program in Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Civil, or Mining)or a related technical drafting discipline.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of provendesign experience in heavy industrial environments (Mining, Mineral Processing,Metallurgy, or Pulp & Paper).
- Standards & Regulations: Goodworking knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), ASME piping codes, andstructural steel detailing.
- Location Constraint: Must reside in, orbe willing to relocate to, Thunder Bay, ON, and work full time on-site.
- Professional Designation: Registrationor eligibility for registration with the Ontario Association of CertifiedEngineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) as a C.Tech. or C.E.T. isconsidered a strong asset.
