Alpaca seeks an Engineering Manager to establish its Canadian engineering presence from the ground up. You will design production systems, write backend code, hire engineers, and shape technical strategy. The work covers brokerage infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and partner launches.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and build Canadian Ledger and brokerage systems
- Write reliable backend services and review team code
- Hire and lead Canada’s founding engineering team
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Own Canadian operational reliability and incident response

Requirements:

- 10+ years building complex financial systems in production
- Recent hands-on coding and engineering leadership experience
- Deep Go or similar backend language expertise
- Experience with ledgers, reconciliation, and multi-currency processing
- Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and observability experience
