Lead quantum hardware systems in British Columbia, directing mechanical, cryogenic, and precision assembly engineering onsite for Photonic.

As Director, Hardware Systems, you will build and scale a multidisciplinary organization supporting quantum modules. Your work spans mechanical systems, cryogenic sample spaces, thermal management, optical and electrical interfaces, and systems integration. You will partner with hardware, integrated photonics, systems, software, and research teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and lead the Hardware Systems team
- Own cryogenic sample space design and delivery
- Package quantum integrated circuits into operating modules
- Define requirements, interfaces, and integration strategies




- Establish rigorous engineering and verification practices

Requirements:

- Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Experience leading multidisciplinary hardware engineering teams
- Technical credibility in precision mechanical design and systems integration
- Experience with demanding environments including cryogenic systems
