The Associate Vice-President, Human Resources reports to the Vice-President, Human Resources and Chief Legal Counsel. This senior executive advises university leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and institutional change. The role oversees HR strategies, policies, programs, operations, and service delivery supporting academic and institutional priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop comprehensive human resources strategies aligned with institutional objectives
- Advise senior leadership on workforce planning and organizational effectiveness
- Lead complex labour relations and collective bargaining matters




- Oversee recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning
- Manage HR operations, budgets, compliance, and employment-related risk

Requirements:

- Relevant undergraduate degree required
- Master's degree or human resources designation preferred
- Significant progressive human resources leadership experience
- Experience with unionized employee relations and collective agreements
- Experience advising executives and leading multidisciplinary HR teams
