_ About InsureLine:_

InsureLine is a leading Canadian insurance organization built on a network of brokerage offices and the head-office team that supports them. Our accounting group is at the center of that network: it keeps the books for the InsureLine Group of companies and helps our franchise offices run on accurate, timely financial information.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant who wants more than a seat at a desk. This role is designed to grow into our Controller position. You will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer and, once you have mastered our systems and software, take on leadership of our five-person accounting team.

Why join us:

- A defined path to Controller. This is a succession role. Working directly under the CFO, you will be developed, mentored and given increasing responsibility with the goal of stepping into the Controller role.
- A team to lead. Once you are fully up to speed on our systems and software, you will oversee a team of five accounting staff.
- Breadth and variety. You will work across a group of companies and a franchise network, not a single ledger, so no two months look the same.
- Visible impact. Your reporting directly shapes decisions made by owners and leadership.
- Total rewards. Competitive salary of $85,000–$110,000, plus a perks package with RRSP matching.

What you will do:

- Lead and perform full-cycle accounting for the InsureLine Group of companies and the franchise offices we support,

from transaction processing through month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare and complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, resolving variances promptly and documenting your work.
- Prepare, review and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with applicable standards.
- Reconcile commission, receivables and payables within our insurance management/accounting system
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes using our insurance management systems and Microsoft 365.
- Report to the CFO, supporting financial planning, reporting and special projects.
- Once fully trained on our systems, supervise, mentor and help develop a team of accounting staff: assigning work, reviewing output and setting priorities for closing and reporting.
- Present financial results and insights clearly to franchise owners and colleagues.
- Build strong working relationships with staff, franchise offices and external partners, acting as a trusted point of contact for financial questions.

What you bring:

- A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a senior accounting role.
- A CPA designation or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- Deep, hands-on experience with all aspects of account reconciliation and full-cycle accounting.

- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft 365.
- Experience with large, integrated management systems that include accounting functions; experience with Applied Epic or the insurance brokerage industry is a definite asset.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and the confidence to present to a range of audiences.
- Experience supervising, training or mentoring accounting staff, or a clear readiness to lead a team.
- A collaborative, service-oriented approach and the ambition to grow into a leadership role.

- Canadian citizenship

What we offer:

- Annual salary of $85,000–$110,000, based on experience and qualifications

- RRSP matching
- Extended health care, dental care and vision care
- Direct mentorship from the CFO and a structured path toward the Controller role
- Leadership of a five-person team as you grow into the role
- A collaborative, supportive team in Port Coquitlam, BC

How to apply: Please submit your resume and a cover letter telling us why this role, and the path to Controller, interests you. Applications will be accepted until November 20, 2026.

We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted. We look forward to hearing from you.
