As a Senior Software Engineer, you will shape the technical foundation connecting scientific datasets, customer data, applications, and services. You will work across AWS infrastructure, databases, APIs, backend systems, and data processing. The work also includes guidance for software initiatives throughout Fleet Space.

Key Responsibilities

Design and evolve cloud, data, and backend architecture in AWS

Define storage and processing for scientific and geospatial datasets

Build backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines

Improve deployment, observability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency





Provide architectural guidance and evaluate build versus buy decisions

Requirements

Around seven or more years of software engineering experience

Production cloud architecture and backend systems experience

Experience with AWS, Python or Go, SQL, Docker, and infrastructure as code

Knowledge of REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, GitLab, and CI/CD

Ability to make explicit architecture tradeoffs across complex systems
