Own sensor fusion for Ribbit’s autonomous aircraft near Toronto, developing integrity-aware estimators with C++, Linux, and diverse onboard sensors. Ribbit seeks a senior robotics engineer to advance the sensor suite and state-estimation stack for uncrewed airplanes. You will investigate sensor selection, calibration, timing, health monitoring, and navigation without dependable GNSS. The position combines hands-on production development with analysis of estimator quality, fault detection, and protection levels. Key Responsibilities:
Own sensor selection, calibration, timing, and aircraft health monitoring Research methods resisting GNSS jamming, spoofing, and outages Build estimator quality metrics for downstream system users Implement innovation gating, cross-checks,
and integrity monitoring Collaborate with navigation, controls, hardware, and flight-test teams Requirements:
Degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, software, or robotics engineering Up-to-date C++ and Linux experience with Eigen Knowledge of factor graphs, optimization, observability, and covariance tuning Sensor integration experience, including intrinsic, extrinsic, and time calibration Eligibility for Reliability or Secret security clearance and Controlled Goods assessment Use robotics, C++, sensor calibration, and integrity-monitoring expertise to strengthen Ribbit’s autonomous aircraft state estimates.
