Senior IT Technician – Client-Facing (M365, Security & Automation) Lower Mainland, BC · Hybrid: mostly remote, with regular local client site visits · Full time · $70,000–$80,000 CAD We’re looking for an experienced technician who our clients trust and actually understand. This isn’t a “close the ticket and move on” role. You’ll handle complex issues on your own, and you’ll be the person who sees when a better long-term solution is needed and explains it in a way clients understand.
As you grow with us, you’ll lead automation, process improvement and client technology planning. There’s a clear path to team lead as we grow. We’re a small team, so everyone pitches in. One hour you might be untangling a conditional access policy, and the next you’re fixing a printer, setting up a new laptop or helping someone who can’t get into their email.
No request is too small, and you’ll be comfortable switching between big projects and everyday support. Technical depth matters, but what sets you apart is communication. You turn technical problems into plain language, you follow through on what you say you’ll do, and you keep people updated without being asked.
What You’ll Be Doing Handle whatever comes in: everyday support and general troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, phones, peripherals, connectivity, and user and access issues Own Tier 2/3 issues across client environments, remotely and onsite: Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints and networking Administer Microsoft 365 across multiple client tenants: users, licensing, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Entra ID Implement and maintain security controls: MFA, conditional access, email security, endpoint protection and backups Lead projects such as migrations,
onboarding new clients, device rollouts and security hardening Handle hands-on work onsite, including hardware setups, office moves, cabling and device deployments Document your work clearly in our PSA and keep client records current Spot recurring issues and propose lasting fixes, upgrades or projects Build automations (PowerShell, n8n, Power Automate, APIs) that make us and our clients more efficient Join client reviews, explain recommendations to business owners and help shape their technology roadmap Over time, help mentor newer technicians and shape how our team works What We’re Looking For 4 years in IT support or systems administration, including at least 2 years at an MSP A robust general troubleshooting foundation, with a calm, methodical approach to problems you haven’t seen before Flexibility to move between senior-level work and day-to-day support as the team needs Strong Microsoft 365 and Windows administration skills, including Intune and Entra ID Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls) Experience owning projects from start to finish, not just tickets Strong spoken and written English. You’ll explain technical issues to non-technical clients every day, by phone, by email and in person.
A track record of reliability:
you follow through and keep people updated A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle for client site visits across the Lower Mainland Nice to Have PowerShell or other scripting experience Automation experience with n8n, Power Automate or Zapier Security certifications (Microsoft SC-900, MS-102, AZ-500, or CompTIA Security ) Experience with HaloPSA, an RMM tool or similar MSP platforms Experience supporting financial services clients Interest in the business side: how IT choices affect a client’s cost, risk and growth About Us BVigilant is a BC-based managed IT and cyber security provider.
