Operate advanced analytical instruments as a Chemical Technician at Concordia University, supporting laboratory analysis, equipment maintenance, and student training across campuses.

Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, this full time Technician Class I position supports chemical and materials engineering laboratories. You will operate GC, UV, FTIR, HPLC, GCMS, TGA, and related instrumentation. The work includes maintaining equipment, analyzing client samples, supporting researchers, and promoting safe laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and calibrate CME characterization laboratory equipment
- Analyze samples and support researchers’ special assignments
- Train students on equipment and operating procedures
- Operate analytical instruments in researchers’ laboratories




- Enforce laboratory safety, cleanliness, and emergency procedures

Requirements:

- Relevant technical diploma with four years’ laboratory experience
- Or relevant bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience
- Safe handling knowledge for chemicals, acids, and hazards
- Working knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance and operation
- English Level 4 and French Level 3 spoken proficiency
