The Region of Waterloo seeks one Home Assistant for up to three months at 247 Franklin St N. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide housekeeping, dining room, and resident support services. The position requires resident-focused communication, safe food handling, cleaning procedures, and organized task completion. You will help maintain a caring, person-centred, home-like environment where resident choice and emotional well-being matter.

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean, disinfect, and tidy rooms, bathrooms, and home areas
- Assist meal service, beverages, table setting, and clearing
- Engage residents and participate in programs and activities




- Respond to call bells and communicate resident changes
- Monitor supplies, equipment, spills, safety issues, and documentation

Requirements:

- Grade 12 education and related healthcare or long-term care experience
- Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Knowledge of cleaning, infection control, and chemical cleaners
- Compassionate communication and resident dignity skills
- TB test, immunizations, vulnerable sector check, and shift availability
