Operate industrial backhoe loaders and maintenance equipment for the City of Thunder Bay, supporting construction and operational work. Weekend and shift work may be required.

Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, you will work with technical direction from the Lead Operator. Duties include operating classified equipment, performing labour tasks, completing minor servicing, and reporting defects and materials used. The role requires transparent communication and public courtesy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate maintenance and construction equipment within classification
- Operate other equipment when required
- Perform labour duties when equipment operation is unnecessary
- Check and complete minor equipment servicing
- Report equipment defects and materials used

Requirements:

- Secondary school graduation diploma
- Competence under Ontario Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to read sewer, water, and construction drawings
- Valid Class D Ontario licence with Z endorsement
- Proficiency operating industrial backhoe loaders with attachments
