Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor (Defence and Aerospace) Contract – four months, part time VTRAC is seeking an advisor with previous experience as an HR Manager, HR Director, or senior talent acquisition leader in the Canadian defence and aerospace industry. The advisor will provide practical expertise on sector roles, candidate assessment, and the ATS and HR systems employers use to manage recruitment. This is an advisory and research assignment requiring direct experience with hiring decisions and recruitment operations.

Advise on defence and aerospace roles across engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, operations, management and specialist technical functions. Explain candidate evaluation practices, including screening, structured interviews, technical assessments, reference checks and hiring-manager decisions. Compare ATS and HR workflows for sourcing, screening, assessment, reporting and hiring-manager collaboration, drawing on systems used firsthand.





Participate in employer discussions and review findings with HR and technical stakeholders; Minimum 10 years of previous HR management, or senior talent acquisition leadership experience with Canadian Defence and Aerospace employers; Direct involvement in recruiting and evaluating technical or operational personnel, with an understanding of sector qualification and screening requirements. Practical familiarity with multiple applicant tracking systems or HR platforms, such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, UKG or SmartRecruiters. Ability to distinguish HR screening from technical assessment and explain how employers evaluate transferable skills.

Strong interviewing, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to work independently on a part-time assignment. Relevant industry relationships are an asset.
