About Us

Uniques Software is a Canadian technology company specializing in software solutions for immigration professionals, government agencies, and organizations managing complex immigration and citizenship programs.

Our flagship product, Officio, is a comprehensive, configurable platform designed to streamline case management, application processing, document management, compliance, reporting, and operational workflows.

With over a decade of experience delivering technology solutions to government and private-sector clients, we are committed to building reliable, scalable, and cutting-edge software that addresses complex business needs.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of software development and implementation projects, with an initial focus on a major provincial government client.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between our government clients, internal development teams, and senior management, ensuring projects are delivered according to agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

This position requires a combination of strong project management capabilities, technical understanding of software development, business analysis skills, and excellent stakeholder communication.

We are looking for a proactive, organized, and solution-oriented professional who can independently manage complex projects, anticipate challenges, and maintain productive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Delivery

- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and planning through development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Establish clear deliverables, measurable acceptance criteria, and realistic delivery commitments.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and potential delays, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports, and delivery schedules.

1. Government Client and Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for government clients and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain professional, transparent, and collaborative relationships.
- Lead project meetings, workshops, requirements discussions, and progress reviews.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly and professionally.
- Manage stakeholder expectations while balancing client needs with contractual commitments and available resources.
- Facilitate the timely resolution of issues, disagreements, and competing priorities.

1. Requirements and Scope Management

- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into actionable specifications for software developers.

- Ensure requirements are sufficiently defined and approved before development begins.
- Establish and maintain processes for managing change requests, including assessment of their impact on timelines, resources, costs, and existing commitments.
- Identify and communicate requirements that fall outside the agreed project scope.
- Maintain traceability between business requirements, contractual deliverables, development activities, testing, and acceptance.

1. Technical Coordination

- Work closely with software developers, technical leads, quality assurance personnel, and infrastructure teams.
- Understand technical dependencies, architectural considerations, and implementation constraints.
- Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate development priorities, sprint planning, testing activities, and software releases.
- Ensure technical issues and dependencies are identified, documented, and escalated appropriately.
- Support continuous improvement of software delivery practices.

1. Quality Assurance and Delivery Acceptance

- Coordinate testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and release readiness activities.
- Ensure project deliverables meet documented requirements and agreed acceptance criteria.
- Work with clients to coordinate validation, feedback, formal acceptance, and production deployment.
- Maintain clear records of outstanding issues, defects, decisions, and approvals.
- Ensure appropriate documentation accompanies software releases.

1. Contractual and Risk Management

- Understand project contractual obligations, deliverables, timelines, and service expectations.
- Monitor project performance against contractual commitments.
- Identify potential scope creep, delivery risks, and contractual concerns before they become significant issues.
- Support management in assessing change requests, additional work, and their commercial implications.
- Maintain explicit documentation of client decisions, approvals, changes, and external dependencies.
- Escalate material project risks to senior management with recommended solutions.

- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
