Drive automated software validation for Telesat’s distributed microservices using Python, Pytest, GitLab CI/CD, and rigorous failure analysis. As a senior individual contributor, you will develop frameworks, test utilities, plugins, and quality gates supporting production-grade engineering. The position spans functional, integration, contract, system, regression, reliability, resilience, performance, and scalability automation.

You will collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and quality engineering stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Create functional and non-functional automation for service workflows
- Extend Pytest plugins for reporting, retries, and parallel execution
- Integrate tests, logs, artifacts, and quality gates into GitLab
- Investigate timeouts, retries, duplicates, backpressure, and recovery




- Improve diagnostics through logs, metrics, traces, and isolation Requirements:
- Experience designing substantial automation frameworks beyond individual test cases
- Robust Python architecture, concurrency, error handling, and logging skills
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD, runners, artifacts, and merge requests
- Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven microservices
