The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 Library Support Specialist Substitute List. This role coordinates library activities, manages facility use during classroom instructional time, and provides direct service to students or teachers. Substitute employees accept day-to-day and short-term assignments when permanent employees are away.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate operation of the library facility
- Coordinate library activities during instructional time
- Process, store, loan, and maintain library materials




- Provide support and direction to library volunteers
- Report directly to the School Principal or designate

Requirements:

- High School Completion Certificate or equivalent
- Diploma in Library Information Management
- Equivalent training and experience may be considered
- Successful interview and positive reference checks
- Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Search
