Role Summary
Olli Brands Inc. (OBi) is redefining what cannabis products can be. Known for its premium edibles, the company brings together meticulous manufacturing, precise dosing, and bold, flavour forward design to create products that feel intentional, elevated, and genuinely enjoyable. Built at the intersection of craft, compliance, and culture, OBi breaks away from the ordinary to deliver products that enrich the consumer experience while meeting the highest standards of quality and regulatory excellence
Olli Brands Inc. is a GMP-track cannabis edibles manufacturer. The Shipper / Receiver controls the two points where material crosses the site boundary. On the inbound side the role verifies every pallet against the purchase order and the paperwork that travels with it, identifies and labels what has been received, and holds anything that does not match until Purchasing or Quality decides.
On the outbound side it verifies every completed order against the shipping specification before it is staged, and loads and despatches it with accurate documentation.
The role sits in Operations / Warehouse and works daily with the Material Handler, Quality, Purchasing and the Production Lead. It is a same-day-stop role: nothing leaves the site without it. It suits someone methodical and document-disciplined who is comfortable holding a pallet or refusing a load when the paperwork does not agree with the product in front of them — under despatch-deadline pressure, and without needing to be asked.
Equipment: this site operates stackers only — electric pallet stacker , walkie and manual stackers and pallet jacks. There is no counterbalance forklift in use and a lift-truck licence is not a requirement of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Receive inbound pallets and verify the bill of lading and packing list against the purchase order — quantity and description — before the material is accepted; where they do not match, apply the hold placard, raise the discrepancy to the Purchasing Manager and keep the pallet stationary until a decision is recorded.
- Identify and record what has been received, by material type: count the boxes on the pallet, label each box in the 1-of-# format, apply unit or box identification labels, pull the Quality sample into a ziplock labelled with the box number and PO,
and enter the receipt per pallet into the inventory record.
- Apply the Quality decision when it is returned — release, partial release with its conditions, or reject/hold — by applying the correct sticker and notifying the Material Handler, Purchasing and the Production Lead the same day.
- Hand verified, labelled pallets to the Material Handler for staging or put-away, and keep the receiving area clear and the day’s receiving paperwork filed before end of shift.
- Verify every completed order against the shipping specification sheet before it ships — purchase order and product code, pallet and box counts, customer, labelling and pallet configuration — and return any pallet that does not match to Packaging for correction and re-presentation.
- Stage released orders in the shipping area, load and despatch to the carrier, and complete the shipping documentation — bill of lading, packing list and carrier paperwork — accurately and on the day the order ships.
- Operate the electric pallet stacker , walkie and manual stackers and pallet jacks within marked aisles only; complete the daily pre-operation inspection log for each unit before use, and tag out and report any defect.
- Maintain inventory and traceability accuracy on everything received and shipped — record each transaction as it happens, keep lot identity and FIFO/FEFO intact, log every adjustment with a reason, and escalate discrepancies the same day rather than absorbing them.
- Uphold GMP, sanitation, housekeeping (5S), site security and cannabis and excise controls on all material movements, and work to Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements including floor-marking and PPE standards at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Secondary school or equivalent, and legally eligible to work in Ontario.
- 0–2 years in a shipping, receiving, warehouse or material-handling role.
A candidate with strong record-keeping discipline and no sector experience is trainable.
- Certified to operate an electric pallet stacker and walkie stacker, or able to certify before operating equipment. A counterbalance lift-truck licence is not required.
- Able to read a purchase order, bill of lading and packing list and reconcile them line by line, and to write down a discrepancy clearly enough for someone else to act on it.
- Comfortable with spreadsheet or scan-based inventory logging, and disciplined about recording transactions as they happen rather than at end of shift.
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role — standing and walking a full shift, with repetitive handling and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lb).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cannabis, excise, pharmaceutical, food or another regulated-goods environment (an asset, not required — trainable on the job).
- Familiarity with FIFO/FEFO rotation, lot traceability and cycle counting.
- Exposure to GMP or quality-controlled receiving, hold and release processes.
- Experience preparing carrier documentation and dealing directly with drivers at the dock.
Key Competencies:
- Document discipline — treats the paperwork as the control, not as administration after the fact.
- Willingness to stop — holds a pallet or refuses a load rather than letting it move on an assumption.
- Accuracy and integrity with inventory and traceability data, including when a count is inconvenient.
- Safety and situational awareness around powered equipment, pedestrians and the dock.
- Composure at the cut-off — works to a despatch deadline without skipping the verification step.
- Clean handoffs — communicates decisions and holds to Material Handling, Quality, Purchasing and the Production Lead without being chased.
Working Conditions In office role in a cannabis edibles manufacturing facility (Etobicoke, ON). Standing role across production and storage areas with repetitive tasks and lifting; room temperatures vary (warm cook/prep areas, cooler curing/storage). Requires gowning, hygiene and PPE compliance and adherence to GMP, food-safety and Ontario OHSA requirements. Some schedule flexibility including weekends may be needed to support production across shifts.
