Snow Shoveller: On-Call Winter Work (NE Winnipeg and East St. Paul)

Björn's Snow is hiring seasonal snow shovellers for residential routes in Northeast Winnipeg and East St. Paul from November to April.

No experience required. We care more about reliability, attitude and taking pride in your work. If you show up, work hard and take feedback well, we can teach you the rest.

This isn't hours of shovelling full driveways. Our tractors handle the driveways. You move through an assigned route clearing the smaller areas they can't reach. Most stops take just a few minutes.

Typical routes include 10 to 20 homes, and shifts usually run 3 to 6 hours depending on snowfall.

E.I. applicants welcome. A positive fit for Uber drivers, delivery workers, students, or anyone who wants active winter work with fast pay.

What you'll do:

- Clear residential walkways, steps and front entrances
- Drive your own vehicle between assigned stops
- Complete stops through our GPS-tracked dispatch app
- Work independently and keep your route moving
- Communicate if conditions, timing or problems come up

When you'll work: This is on-call snow work. Snow controls the schedule. Some weeks may be quiet, and when it does snow we need people who can generally respond on short notice.

Work may happen during the day, in the evenings, on weekends or overnight.

What we need from you:

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Legal to work in Canada
- Speaks English and is able to read, write and understand it
- Your own reliable vehicle




- Smartphone with mobile data, a charger, and location sharing turned on during routes
- Able to work outdoors in Manitoba winter conditions
- Able to lift over 50 lbs
- Generally available for short-notice snow work
- Dependable and comfortable working independently

Previous snow removal or outdoor work experience is an asset, but we will train the right person.

Equipment:

If you have your own appropriate shovel, you can use it. If not, you'll stop at our NE Winnipeg shop to pick up the equipment you need.

You provide your own winter boots, gloves and clothing.

Pay:

- $28.00 per hour
- Direct deposit within 24 hours
- Year-round work available for reliable candidates
- Opportunities to move into tractor or crew-lead roles

This is a good fit if: You like active work, working independently and getting through a route without someone standing over you all shift.

This job probably isn't for you if:

You need a predictable weekly schedule, regularly ignore your phone, don't want short-notice winter work or need someone checking on you throughout the route.

We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to care.
