Senior Analytics Developer - Azure Data Bricks/ Power BI / Pyspark / MS Fabric

Project Description

Analytics Engineer developer that will provide data transformations within the Azure datalake environment; public Gold datasets and semantic models and develop reports in PowerBI.

Must Haves

· 6+ years experience as Azure technologies including

· Azure Databricks

· Azure DataLake Gen 2.

· Power BI development and semantic modeling

· Azure DevOps CI/CD

· PySpark

· Microsoft Fabric

· Star Schema or Snowflake data modeling experience

· Orchestration & Ingestion:

· Proficiency using Data Factory within Fabric to build complex, scalable data pipelines.

· Business Intelligence:

· Designing productive Direct Lake semantic models in Power BI using Silver/Gold layer models to ensure high-speed reporting directly from OneLake.

· Use of semantic models to design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards. Develop operational and analytical PowerBI reports/paginated reports.

· To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of the Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025,



the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

· Transform raw data into silver/gold data for reporting consumption.

· Review business requirements (and related materials) to use as input for design/development of reports

· Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations.

· Provide specialized skills for developing data access queries

· Works in conjunction with data analysts for developing dashboards and other end user reporting products

· Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data

Experience & Skill Set Requirements

Desirable Skills and Experience 25%

· Experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF) v2

· Data Architecture & Engineering: Competency in building Lakehouses and Warehouses,

· writing optimized PySpark or SQL pipelines, and implementing Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).

· Data Governance: Data security (row-level/column-level), and data lineage tracking.
