Apply harm reduction, de-escalation, and life skills support as a Casual Housing / Shelter Support Worker with Our Place Society.

This position works directly with residents and shelter users under the Site Supervisor and Team Lead. You will build professional relationships, gather information about needs and risks, support individual intervention plans, and connect residents with community resources and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build trusting professional relationships with residents
- Gather information through interviews, observation, and inventories
- Implement short-term issue-specific intervention plans
- Support independent living and household management skills
- Use de-escalation to maintain secure, calm surroundings

Requirements:

- Diploma in a related human or social service field
- Minimum one year of recent related experience
- Knowledge of resident services and community resources
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques

Use collaborative support, behaviour management, and harm reduction knowledge to help residents pursue defined goals.
