Build high-performance security with Java and distributed systems on Elastic’s Elasticsearch Security team. This is a distributed company role. As a Senior Software Developer, you will shape Elasticsearch architecture and design across authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation. You will collaborate with engineering and product leaders while securing a distributed data store at scale. The work spans core engine development, security models, cryptography, and vulnerability management. Key Responsibilities:





Design and deliver critical security components inside Elasticsearch’s core engine Develop foundational security models for recent features Optimize security performance across distributed systems Apply cryptographic solutions to genuine customer use cases Automate vulnerability triage with AI-driven tools Requirements:

Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management Experience building scalable authorization systems under high concurrency Understanding of distributed systems security and cluster state propagation Deep knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and SAML Ability to write high-performance, thread-safe, lock-free code Apply Java, authorization, cryptography, and distributed security expertise to strengthen Elasticsearch at scale with Elastic.
