We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing, modifying, and optimizing CNC machining programs using Mastercam to manufacture precision parts, fixtures, and tooling in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.

You will play a critical role in supporting production by ensuring machining programs are accurate, productive, and capable of producing high-quality components within tight tolerances. Hands-on Mastercam programming experience is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, modify, and optimize 2D and 3D CNC machining programs using Mastercam.

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, 3D models, and technical specifications.

Create machining toolpaths from drawings and 3D models to support precision part manufacturing.

Design and develop work-holding fixtures for CNC machining operations.

Select appropriate cutting tools and determine machining strategies, feeds, and speeds based on material and part requirements.

Apply mathematical calculations, including geometry and trigonometry, to determine machining angles, tapers, and dimensions.

Review, verify, and troubleshoot CNC programs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with specifications.

Use AutoCAD to digitize Mylar drawings as required.

Complete and maintain accurate process records, programming documentation, and customer-related manufacturing records.

Collaborate with machinists, production personnel, and other departments to resolve programming and machining issues.

Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times,

and maintain consistent quality.

Follow all company health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

May perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proven hands-on proficiency in Mastercam is mandatory, including experience creating and modifying 2D and 3D CNC programs and toolpaths.

Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Solid understanding of CNC machining operations, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and work-holding methods.

Experience working with precision components and tight machining tolerances.

Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to independently develop, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining programs.

Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Machinist training or apprenticeship considered an asset.

Previous aerospace or precision manufacturing experience considered an asset.

Familiarity with CATIA and AutoCAD considered an asset.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and machinery.

Ideal Candidate:

Mastercam Expert: You have hands-on experience creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs using Mastercam. You're confident developing 2D and 3D toolpaths independently and understand how to translate engineering drawings into accurate machining instructions.

Precision-Focused: You understand the importance of tight tolerances and producing high-quality components. You carefully review programs, verify dimensions, and ensure parts meet engineering and customer specifications.

Machining Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, and fixture requirements. You know how to develop practical machining strategies that support efficient production.

Technical Problem-Solver: You can identify programming challenges, troubleshoot machining issues, and make adjustments to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall production performance.

Detail-Oriented & Independent: You can interpret complex drawings, manage programming requirements with minimal supervision, and maintain accurate documentation while collaborating effectively with machinists and production teams.
