The Position

This project-oriented independent contractor engagement augments Encore’s full time staff on an ongoing basis. Weekly hours may vary depending on project needs.

At Encore Business Solutions, we help organizations transform their business through Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions and exceptional consulting expertise. As we continue to grow our Finance and Supply Chain Management practice, we are seeking an experienced Independent Contractor with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), specializing in Finance, skilled in Project Management & Accounting, and ideally holds a CPA designation.

The Solution Specialist will support Encore’s delivery team on client projects across Canada and the United States, applying strong accounting and financial management knowledge and hands‑on Dynamics 365 implementation experience. Success requires a client‑focused approach and the ability to connect business scenarios to practical system use. Working closely with internal project teams and client stakeholders, the solution specialist will build strong partnerships through clear communication, consistent follow-through, and continuous improvement across projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility

- Lead discovery, requirements gathering, business process reviews, and solution design workshops.
- Translate findings from client financial and project accounting requirements analysis into Dynamics 365 FSCM solutions.
- Configure and support Dynamics 365 Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger,



Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting

- Lead and support implementations of Project Management & Accounting, including:

- Project costing, Revenue recognition, Resource management, Time and expense management, Project invoicing, and Work breakdown structures (WBS)

- Develop functional design documentation and business process recommendations. Work with developers to validate the proposed designs and prepare estimates.
- Support data migration, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and training activities.
- Collaborate with solution architects, technical consultants, project managers, and client stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance and best practices aligned with Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities.
- Assist in project planning, estimation, risk identification, and issue resolution.
- Mentor client teams and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- University degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent experience; CPA certification, or equivalent professional accounting designation is considered an asset.
- Certification MB-310: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate.

Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect

- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation experience, preferably with Dynamics Finance, including experience leading or supporting multiple full‑cycle Dynamics 365 Finance implementations.
- 7+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or ERP consulting experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (formerly Dynamics AX) experience.
- Experience leading or supporting multiple full‑cycle Dynamics 365 Finance implementations.
- Understanding of core financial processes, including GL, AP, and AR.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Windows-based platforms.
- Working knowledge of SCM modules; basic understanding of production and warehouse management (implementation experience considered an asset)
- Understanding of applicable Canadian and U.S. business tax laws, GAAP, SOX, and industry‑specific compliance requirements, including government, DOD, Food & Bev, and FDA requirements, with the ability to apply that knowledge in Dynamics 365.
- Experience working with cross‑border Canadian and U.S. finance processes.
- Familiar with DualWrite Power BI and Power Automate.
- Strong requirements gathering, business process mapping, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Willing and able to travel; valid passport is required.
- Must be resident of Canada or the United States and legally entitled to work in resident country.
- Must be fluent in English – both verbal and written.
