Advise TD’s Insurance business in Toronto using solid legal analysis, drafting, and communication skills across regulatory and product matters.
As Counsel II, you will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to insurance clients. Your work covers individual and group life, health, travel, and creditor insurance. You will support product development, distribution, marketing, sales, administration, and business strategies while working with partners across TD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on federal and provincial insurance laws and regulatory requirements
- Support product enhancements and changes to business processes
- Review policies, applications, disclosures, agreements, and marketing materials
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions
- Support regulatory inquiries, examinations, and customer-impacting matters
Requirements:
- Law degree and membership in good standing with Canadian provincial bar
- Major law firm or in-house corporate legal experience preferred
- Insurance, financial services, or regulatory law experience considered an asset
- Strong research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Sound judgment, accountability, and ability to escalate legal risks
