Lead underground mine rescue training and emergency response at Agnico Eagle’s Detour Lake Mine, applying firefighting expertise and incident command principles.Reporting to the Asset Protection and Emergency Management Superintendent, you will oversee operational, administrative, and supervisory training responsibilities. The position requires technical competence in firefighting operations, instructional methods, incident command, and underground emergency response. You will coordinate staff development, support emergency preparedness, and act as Emergency Response Coordinator when required.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver Underground Mine Rescue training programsCoordinate emergency exercises, evacuations, fire scenarios, and competitionsInspect, test, maintain,
and inventory rescue equipmentProvide technical expertise during underground rescue operationsSupport emergency planning, investigations, and incident responseRequirements:
Post-secondary education in an applicable or related fieldThree to five years of emergency leadership or supervisionAt least five years in emergency response or rescueCommon Core and required NFPA certificationsOntario D-Z driver’s licence and physical readinessApply underground rescue leadership, firefighting knowledge, and training expertise while supporting secure operations at Detour Lake Mine.
