As Alpaca’s Canada Engineering Manager, you will design and ship brokerage systems while hiring the founding engineering team. You will shape technical strategy, architecture, and practices for Canadian operations. Your work spans ledgers, multi-currency processing, compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and build Canadian ledger and transaction-processing systems
- Write backend services and review production code
- Hire, mentor, and lead Canada’s founding engineers
- Define cloud, security, residency, and observability patterns




- Coordinate technical requirements with partners and regulators

Requirements:

- 10+ years of qualified software engineering experience
- Recent hands-on experience architecting complex financial systems
- Deep Go or similar backend-language expertise
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and observability
- Knowledge of ledgers, reconciliation, and multi-currency processing
