Shape strategic communications for the City of Kelowna through research, writing, and trusted advice supporting senior leaders and public audiences.

As a Communications Consultant, you will develop internal and external strategies for the City Manager, Mayor, and Council. You will connect corporate priorities with audience needs through stakeholder analysis, media relations, and purposeful communications. Your work includes planning, writing, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement across corporate initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategic communications plans
- Research citizens, stakeholders, issues, trends, and preferences
- Create communications solutions for complex corporate initiatives




- Lead communications for City Manager and Council
- Coordinate relief staff and external consultants

Requirements:

- University degree in communications, public relations, or related field
- Minimum five years’ communications experience
- Substantial progressively responsible corporate communications experience
- Exceptional writing, political acumen, and relationship-building skills
- Project management and research capabilities
