- Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews of consultant designs, drawings, specifications,
and proposed equipment with the Integrated Infrastructure Delivery and Maintenance and Operations teams for alignment with NAIT’s standards, applicable codes, system integration, and long-term operating needs. External consultants typically prepare design drawings for medium to large projects.
- Provide technical guidance to Maintenance and Operations and other departments on facility-related issues, including building systems troubleshooting, controls optimization, equipment selection, operational improvements, and solutions to infrastructure and service issues during emergencies and ongoing projects, to support reliable, efficient, and continuous service delivery.
- Oversee technical input to commissioning, recommissioning, functional performance testing, and project handover, including verification of building systems performance, operating documentation, and operator training.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and regularly update facilities sustainability and energy management plans, including proposed priorities, performance baselines, measurable targets, and implementation roadmaps for leadership approval.
- Develop and maintain a campus energy audit program, coordinate periodic audits and external consultants, maintain audit records, and integrate findings into energy management plans; prioritize recommendations and track implementation.
- Identify and evaluate energy and water conservation, emissions reduction, electrification, and renewable energy opportunities; develop business cases that consider life-cycle costs, operational impacts, implementation risks, and measurable benefits.
