Job Type: Seasonal / On-Call (Winter Maintenance)

Season: November – April

Compensation: Hourly pay based on actual hours worked. No standby pay.

Back Country Group is looking for reliable, hardworking Sidewalk Snow Removal Crew Members to join our winter maintenance team.

Successful candidates will be responsible for clearing snow and applying ice control materials at commercial and industrial properties throughout the Niagara Region.

We are looking for motivated individuals who can work efficiently in winter conditions, take pride in their work, and be available when winter weather hits.

Key Responsibilities

- Clear snow from sidewalks, walkways, building entrances, stairs, and pedestrian areas.
- Operate snowblowers, power brooms, shovels, and other snow removal equipment.
- Apply salt and ice-melting products as required.
- Maintain safe, accessible walking surfaces at commercial properties.
- Work alongside crew leaders to complete assigned routes efficiently.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Follow company safety procedures and winter maintenance standards.
- Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, or property damage to supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous snow removal or landscaping experience is an asset but not required.
- Must be available for on-call shifts,



including overnight hours, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be dependable and able to respond promptly when called in.
- Physically capable of performing labor-intensive work in cold, snowy conditions.
- Comfortable operating snowblowers and other snow removal equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.

Compensation & Work Schedule
- Employees are paid only for hours actually worked.
- No standby pay or guaranteed seasonal hours are offered.
- Work is weather-dependent, and shifts are scheduled as snow and ice conditions require.
- Hours will vary throughout the winter season depending on snowfall, weather conditions, and operational needs.
- Employees must be available for call-outs during snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Hourly wages are based on experience.
