East Coast Psychotherapy & Trauma Clinic - Halifax
Halifax Regional Municipality
Join a warm, collaborative team that values both clinical excellence and human connection. At East Coast Psychotherapy & Trauma Clinic, we offer a well-organized practice with established systems and a clinic manager and clinical director who are actively involved in day-to-day operations. With a streamlined intake process, strong referral flow, and responsive administrative and clinical leadership, we help create the conditions for you to focus on what you do best: therapy. Your expertise is respected, your autonomy is honoured, and your continued growth is encouraged.
We’re seeking an advanced couples therapy practitioner to join our Halifax clinic in a part-time or full-time contract position. The role includes in-person work, with flexibility for some virtual sessions and opportunities to shape your schedule. Whether you’re local or considering relocation, this is an opportunity to do rewarding clinical work alongside a team that cares about its clients and one another.
You’ll work with couples experiencing a range of concerns, including persistent conflict, emotional disconnection, communication difficulties, infidelity and betrayal, ruptures in trust, intimacy concerns, attachment injuries, and significant life transitions. Within our psychotherapy and trauma practice, you’ll also support couples in understanding how traumatic experiences, childhood adversity, and mental health concerns influence their relationship.
We’re looking for an established clinician with substantial couples therapy experience and advanced training in an approach such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, or another evidence-based couples therapy model. Your practice should be trauma-informed and grounded in an attachment lens, with an understanding of how attachment histories, needs, and patterns shape emotional connection, conflict, and relational repair. You’ll bring the confidence and clinical judgment to navigate complex presentations, intense emotions, and entrenched relational patterns.
The successful candidate will bring strong assessment and treatment planning skills, including the ability to assess relational safety and determine when couples therapy is appropriate. You’ll be comfortable working independently while valuing consultation, shared learning, and connection with colleagues.
If you’re an engaged, adaptable practitioner who enjoys both professional autonomy and being part of a team-oriented team, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect.
