Prepare nourishing meals as a part time Cook with Extendicare, using therapeutic diet knowledge and proper food handling techniques. Support residents, guests, and employees through dependable meal service.

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services or Dietary Manager, the Cook prepares and delivers food for residents, guests, and employees. You will review menus, follow production sheets, standardized recipes, and composite menus while meeting schedules and budgets. The position also supports special occasion meals and dietary department procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and deliver food for residents, guests, and employees
- Review menus and production sheets before preparing meals
- Prepare and serve therapeutic and specialty diets attractively




- Complete temperature audits for fridges, freezers, and storerooms
- Follow recipes, production charts, schedules, and dietary policies

Requirements:
- Food Handler's Certificate required
- Large quantity food preparation experience required
- Healthcare or retirement setting experience preferred
- Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets
- Ability to lift heavy, hot items and stand throughout shifts
