As a **Verification Engineering Intern**, you'll join a collaborative verification team and contribute to the **end-to-end verification of DSP-based SoC chips for high-speed connectivity products**. With guidance from experienced engineers, you'll build your verification and debugging skills, learn about DSP, SoC, SerDes, Ethernet, and emerging technologies, and participate in the verification process from specifications and verification planning through pre-silicon verification and silicon validation.* **Impact:** Contribute to real DSP/SoC features that are critical to our product roadmap.* **Mentorship:** Learn alongside engineers who are invested in your development.* **Learning:** Gain hands-on experience with SoC verification, digital hardware, DSP, and industry-standard verification tools and methodologies.* **Growth opportunities:** Strong performance may open opportunities to join the team after graduation.* **Team culture:** Build connections and enjoy team events and activities.* Own the **end-to-end verification of DSP and SoC features**, from understanding specifications and developing verification plans through test development, debug, coverage, and verification closure.* Develop **SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, tests, assertions, checkers, and coverage** to verify functionality, corner cases, and error scenarios.* Develop an understanding of **DSP architectures, SoC subsystems, SerDes, Ethernet, and high-speed connectivity technologies**.* Verify feature interactions across **DSP blocks, digital logic, interfaces, firmware,
and other SoC subsystems**.* Run simulations and debug complex failures using industry-standard simulation and waveform-debug tools such as **Synopsys VCS and Verdi**.* Use **functional and code coverage** to identify verification gaps and drive features toward verification closure.* Work closely with design, architecture, firmware, and validation engineers to understand requirements, debug issues, and verify features from an **end-to-end system perspective**.* **Improve verification flows and methodologies** by identifying opportunities to make test development, simulation, regressions, debug, and results analysis more efficient.* Develop scripts and automation using **Python, shell, C/C++, or other languages** to improve verification productivity and workflows.* Explore and apply **AI/ML and AI-assisted technologies** to improve verification workflows, including failure triage, log and specification analysis, test development, debug, and engineering productivity.* Support **post-silicon validation and lab activities**, helping correlate pre-silicon verification results with silicon behavior.* Studying Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Science, or a related field.* Detail-oriented and able to plan tasks effectively.* Great communication and technical writing skills.* Strong desire to grow skills and gain **DSP, SoC,
and hardware verification knowledge**.* Experience with hardware description languages such as **Verilog and SystemVerilog**.* Familiarity with **digital logic, computer architecture, DSP concepts, and SoC design**.* Familiarity with verification methodologies such as **UVM, SystemVerilog Assertions, functional coverage, or constrained-random verification** is a plus.* Familiarity with industry-standard simulation and debug tools such as **Synopsys VCS and Verdi** is a plus.* Experience with scripting or programming languages such as **Python, shell, C, or C++**.* Interest in using **AI/ML, automation, and new technologies to improve engineering and verification workflows**.* In study towards a bachelor's degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related field* For 16-month internships: must be available May/June 2027 - August/September 2028* Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.* 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, etc**To all Staffing and Recruiting Agencies:**Our Careers Site is only for individuals seeking a job at Qualcomm.
