CGI is seeking an Enterprise Architect to guide the design and delivery of secure, cloud-based applications for a complex enterprise environment. You’ll shape architecture decisions and help multidisciplinary teams deliver Java and Spring Boot services, Angular applications, and microservices on Azure Red Hat OpenShift. Working with business and technical stakeholders, you’ll turn requirements into practical designs and support teams through implementation, release, and transition to operations.
Define application architecture, design principles, technology choices, and implementation patterns that meet business needs and enterprise standards.
- Translate requirements and solution concepts into architecture views, technical designs, integration specifications, and practical guidance for delivery teams.
- Design microservices architectures, including service boundaries, API contracts, asynchronous communication, resilience, observability, and service-level data ownership.
- Assess solution options and explain trade-offs across cost, schedule, complexity, security, performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Guide teams through implementation, design and code reviews, technical problem-solving, and architecture decisions.
- Work with business and product teams to clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and manage technical risks and assumptions.
- Define and validate non-functional requirements, including performance, availability, accessibility, privacy, security, and recoverability.
- Guide DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including automated testing, infrastructure as code, deployment and release management, monitoring, and production readiness.
- Provide architecture guidance for Java-based services and Angular single-page applications.
- Support estimates, delivery planning, proof-of-concept work, deployment planning, and transition to operations.
- Identify opportunities to simplify architecture, reuse services, reduce technical debt,
improve delivery efficiency, and apply emerging technologies where they add clear value.
- Maintain architecture documentation and communicate decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience guiding multidisciplinary teams through the full software development lifecycle.
- Solid knowledge of application architecture, software design principles, integration patterns, API design, microservices, and event-driven applications backed by relational databases.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot services, Angular applications, and containerized applications on OpenShift.
- Experience architecting and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Practical understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- The ability to create clear architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation guidance.
Experience in the public sector or another regulated environment.
• Relevant technical certifications.
The architect will guide design and delivery using the software and platforms recorded in the architecture decision log:
- Java with Spring Boot; microservices with data segregated by service.
- Red Hat Data Grid.
- OpenShift Pipelines; Data, testing, security, and operations: Azure SQL Database; The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
