Build resilient distributed systems at Salesforce using Kafka, Kubernetes, and Java across critical internal cloud infrastructure. Operate services at production scale.

This senior-level software engineering role supports the Ajna Kafka-as-a-Service platform. You will design, develop, debug, and operate systems spanning thousands of compute nodes. The work includes Terraform automation, Kubernetes services, and Java-based microservices. You will also investigate incidents and improve availability, resilience, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design resilient distributed systems across multiple data centers

Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and workflows

Develop Java microservices on Kubernetes and Docker

Investigate incidents and perform systematic root cause analysis





Participate in on-call rotation and maintain service availability

Requirements:

Related technical degree and four-plus years backend development

Deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby

Robust Kafka internals and distributed systems fundamentals

Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and production debugging experience

Experience operating critical services and infrastructure applications

Apply distributed systems, Kafka, Kubernetes, Java, and operational expertise to Salesforce’s internal platform engineering.
