Build hands-on laboratory experience with NAIT’s Clean Technology team through soil analysis and environmental sample preparation.

This Student Research Assistant position supports circularity-focused projects involving industrial waste and environmental samples. You will contribute to forestry reclamation research alongside industry and academic partners. The work includes laboratory protocols, analytical instrumentation, safety practices, and explicit communication of findings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform basic soil sample preparation and analysis
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and analytical equipment
- Complete experimental setup and take down procedures
- Follow chemical handling and laboratory safety procedures




- Communicate observations and results to project partners

Requirements:

- Enrollment in Chemical, Biological, Environmental, or Nanotechnology studies
- Eligibility for full-time work during the specified period
- Basic Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams knowledge
- Understanding of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
- Analytical laboratory experience and Class 5 license are assets
