Intermediate Engineer in the Civil, Geological, and Geotechnical AreasWe are hiring for the position ofIntermediate Engineerin the Civil, Geological, and Geotechnical areas at our Vancouver, Canada office.An ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geological or Civil Engineering. The applicant must be registered or eligible for registration as a Qualified Engineer with EGBC. A minimum of 5 years of experience related to mining, hydropower and/or infrastructure project development with a robust background in geotechnical analysis is required. The successful applicant will play a key role in a variety of mining and hydropower projects and must be able to work with multi‑disciplinary teams. This position includes opportunities for domestic and international travel and will involve field assignments.Responsibilities may include the following:Planning and participating in geotechnical/hydrogeological site investigation programsCompleting geotechnical and/or civil engineering analyses and designCoordinating technical work within several disciplines and groupsProject management activitiesWriting technical reportsPreparing detailed proposals and schedulesMentoring and training junior and intermediate staffCurrent assignments that the successful candidate may be involved with include tailings dams, geotechnical support to operating underground and open pit mines, mine infrastructure, water retaining dams, pipelines, and hydropower facilities.We place an emphasis on developing practical solutions to meet our Client’s needs, and preference will be given to individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to strong technical competence.The estimated base pay range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 CAD. The salary offered will be dependent on relevant knowledge, experience, and skill level.
