Support psychiatric assessment and stabilization at Ross Memorial Hospital as a Temporary Part Time Registered Practical Nurse in Lindsay, Ontario. Work twelve hour shifts.

This Registered Practical Nurse position serves the Mental Health Inpatient Unit, a Schedule 1 adult psychiatry short term unit. The multidisciplinary team provides nursing care, treatment, and activity programs. Applicants need psychiatric nursing experience, medication administration knowledge, and solid biopsychosocial assessment skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit
• Support assessment, stabilization,
  
  
  
  and short term treatment
• Administer medications in psychiatric care settings
• Apply verbal and non verbal de escalation techniques
• Work within the multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Three years current psychiatric nursing experience with seriously mentally ill individuals
• Certificate or Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
• Current BCLS and Non Violent Crisis Intervention certification
• Excellent biopsychosocial assessment and psychopharmacologic treatment knowledge
